Do I need a sailing licence to charter a yacht in Thailand?

For bareboat charters, a valid sailing certificate (RYA Day Skipper, ASA 104 or equivalent) and logbook experience are required. If you do not hold a certificate, a professional skipper can be hired for an additional daily fee.

What is the sailing season around Koh Chang?

The main sailing season at Koh Chang runs from November to April during the northeast monsoon. Our Koh Samui base operates May to September, offering excellent sailing conditions during the southwest monsoon when Koh Chang is in its off season.

How much does a yacht charter in Koh Chang cost?

Weekly bareboat charter rates range from approximately EUR 1,500 to EUR 3,500 depending on yacht size and season. Crewed charters including a professional skipper start from EUR 2,500 per week. Fuel, provisioning and marina fees are additional.

What islands can I visit on a charter from Koh Chang?

From the Koh Chang base you can sail to Koh Mak, Koh Kood, Koh Wai, Koh Rang and many smaller uninhabited islands. Most daily passages between islands take 2 to 4 hours under sail.

Is provisioning included in the charter price?

Accepted Answer

Provisioning is available as an add-on service and can be ordered in advance through the AQUA Charter App before departure. It is not included in the base charter rate.
